Chapter 1.
(Exodus:1-14)
The experience of Moses the servant of God after Egypt, lost vision, Feeling Rejected by his own People, married to a non Jew, A shepherd and on top of that keeping sheep that didn’t belong to him rather his father in law, Moses is going through the worst part of his life, he had believed that the Lord assigned him to deliver His people out of captivity and lead them to a land promised that flowed with milk and honey but this was not what he was doing, his life had lost meaning and he was living to see another day and the other while taking care of his In-law’s flock, while in the bush on a normal day a fascinating sight Moses thought to himself, A fire that burnt without consuming the trees or the leaves must be an interesting sight for anyone and most especially a lonely shepherd, and out of the midst cried, “I am the lord thy God” and the story continues,
The Lord appears to Moses at a point in life where his vision is blurred by his current circumstance then, and introduces Himself as the I AM THAT I AM and this really did not make sense to Moses for the mission He was being assigned to do,( Are you sure it’s me that you want to go and deliver your people) is one of the questions I believe the writer skipped, He needed something more than a mysterious God because his own people had not believed on him, therefore God Performed Wonder before Moses to relate him with the spiritual in order to awaken his faith, Moses was crippled with the problems of the day to day, providing for his family and being the best In-law to his father, a loving husband to his wife and a caring father to his daughters, Like many today can relate with this situation were the only thing that you strive for is to satisfy yourself and your closet family, The vision is no longer clear and you might even be thinking that it was all an excitement, After this Miraculous spectacle,It could only take such a show from God to convince Moses and after the experience his life was transformed that the stammering Shepherd Quit his job from his father in law and decided to go to the greatest city to meet with the greatest leader by then Pharaoh and demand for the freedom of the Lord’s people, all his insecurities and fear of his cruel brother the king had vanished and the unbelief of his fellow Jews didn’t matter this time, Moses was more than ever determined to lead the Isrealist into Freedom and that was demonstrated by his patience to Pharaoh, determination to dialogue with him after numerous denials and courage to face his people and influence them to believe that indeed god had sent him and that it’s him who will deliver them.
